New yarn at the Knit Nook: Mission Falls edition.

Once again, the Knit Nook has gotten another bunch of great new yarn. I plan on working my way through them (it’s my job, right? It has nothing to do with being a fiber addict.) Today I procured some brand-spankin-new Mission Falls 136 Merino Superwash.

Many of us are already in love with the yarn by the Canadian company Mission Falls. This yarn gives us another reason to smile at our friends up north. It’s the same yarn as Mission Falls 1824 Wool, but knits up to approximately 6 stitches/inch. The colors are simply gorgeous – it would be great for doing color work like fair isle or intarsia. Best of all – it’s superwash!

The Knit Nook also carries the accompanying pattern book, which was coordinated by Stefanie Japel. After reading about it on her blog, I was excited to flip through and check out the patterns. A Shizknit pattern is in the works using this yarn, so stay tuned.
